John S. Moody, Jr., is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has extensive experience in real estate development, leasing, acquisitions, sales and financing. He represents developers, owners, families, financial institutions, investors, retailers and private equity funds in acquisitions, sales, development, leasing, financing and construction of all types of real estate.

Development

  • Serves as outside general counsel for a local real estate developer on retail, office, multifamily, lot development, medical and other types of real estate development projects. Extensive experience with development of most types of commercial real estate and lot developments

  • Representation of several companies relocating their corporate headquarters, including an international trading firm and a publicly traded construction company

Farm & Ranch

  • Representation of a buyer of a 6,200-acre historic ranch in Kenedy County, Texas

  • Representation of a global manufacturing company in leasing over 1 million square feet of industrial square feet in West Houston
  • Representation of an investment fund in the acquisition of a 12-building industrial portfolio
  • Representation of a private equity fund in the acquisition and predevelopment of a 450-acre industrial and office park
  • Representation of limited partners in the buy-out of the general partner in a large industrial deal

  • Representation of a developer in the development, financing and leasing of two new LEED Gold office buildings in West Houston
  • Regular representations of companies relocating office space on their leases
  • Representation of a finance company in the acquisition and development of its new headquarters and sale-leaseback of its existing headquarters in a reverse 1031 transaction
  • Representation of several companies relocating their corporate headquarters, including an international trading firm and a publicly traded construction company
