Moody Law Founder John S. Moody, Jr. Featured in Bisnow Article on Houston Bayou Development

Moody Law Group founder John S. Moody has been featured in a Bisnow article about development around Houston’s Buffalo Bayou. “Buffalo Bayou-Area Developers Bump Into Challenges Building On Houston’s Oldest Land,” details the issues discussed in a March 24 Bisnow panel discussion moderated by Mr. Moody.

The article describes some of the exciting new projects along the Bayou, including the new Autry Park, a mixed-use development with office, multifamily and retail space. The development will also include more than $30 million in infrastructure improvements in the area – more walkability, additional trees and bike lanes.

The article also details how panelists – Scott Ziegler of Ziegler Cooper Architects, Acho Azuike of DC Partners, David Ott from The Hanover Company, and Lisa Helfman of HEB – discussed the importance of staying true to Houston’s rich history while developing along the bayou. Mr. Azuike described how building The Allen in Houston’s Fourth Ward will incorporate the history and culture from Freedmen’s Town.

Panelists also detailed the challenges that come with building by the bayou, including density, cost and construction delays. The panelists agreed the rising costs aren’t keeping people away.
